Connect-IRL Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Connect-IRL mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Connect-IRL.

2. Description of Service

Connect-IRL provides a mobile platform for YPO (Young Presidents' Organization) chapter members to:

• Connect and network with other chapter members
• View member profiles and contact information
• Register for and manage event attendance
• Communicate with other members through in-app messaging
• Access chapter resources and information
• Manage personal and family member information

3. Eligibility

The App is available only to:

• Active YPO chapter members
• Authorized spouses of YPO members
• Chapter administrators

By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements and have the authority to enter into these Terms.

4. User Accounts

To access the App, you must:

• Create an account using accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Promptly notify us of any unauthorized use of your account
• Be responsible for all activities that occur under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
• Share false, misleading, or inappropriate content
• Harass, abuse, or harm other members
• Share confidential YPO information outside the App
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
• Use the App for commercial solicitation without authorization
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's operation
• Violate YPO's code of conduct or ethics

6. Content and Intellectual Property

User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit to the App. By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content within the App for the purpose of providing our services.

App Content

All App content, features, and functionality are owned by Connect-IRL and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

7. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of the App is subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the App, you consent to our collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Event Registration and Attendance

When registering for events through the App:

• You commit to attending events for which you RSVP
• You agree to notify organizers if you cannot attend
• You understand that some events may have associated costs
• You agree to comply with event-specific rules and requirements

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Connect-IRL, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

11. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

15. SMS Messaging Terms

Consent to Receive SMS Messages

By providing your mobile phone number and opting in to SMS communications from Connect IRL, you consent to receive text messages related to your chapter membership, including but not limited to:

• Survey invitations and reminders
• Event notifications and reminders
• Chapter administrative communications
• Onboarding and welcome messages

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on chapter activity. You may receive up to 20 messages per month, though the typical volume is lower.

Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Connect IRL does not charge for SMS messages, but your mobile carrier's standard messaging and data rates may apply. Please contact your carrier for details about your specific plan.

Opt-Out

You may opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from Connect IRL. After opting out, you will receive a one-time confirmation message and no further SMS messages will be sent. You may also update your communication preferences through your member profile on the Connect IRL platform.

Opt-In Methods

End users consent to receive SMS messages through the following methods:

• Membership Enrollment: During chapter onboarding via the Connect IRL platform, members provide their mobile phone number and agree to receive chapter communications including SMS messages.
• Admin-Initiated Surveys: Chapter administrators may activate SMS-delivered surveys for members who have provided phone numbers and have active membership status.
• Member Profile: Members may update their phone number and communication preferences at any time through their authenticated member profile on the Connect IRL platform.

Supported Carriers

SMS messaging is supported on all major U.S. carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy

Your phone number and SMS consent information are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number or SMS opt-in information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
